Video Highlights of 2019 Paris Diamond League Meet: Hanna Green Wins Her First Diamond League, Noah Lyles Beats Bolt’s Record

Most of the LetsRun.com crew is on vacation as we get ready for the start of the Diamond League finals next week, so we’re not doing a recap of the Paris Diamond League meet but we have video highlights below.
From an American distance perspective the highlight was American Hanna Green winning the 800 in 1:58.38 over Natoya Goule. Green was only 8th at the bell and 6th at 200 to go as Raevyn Rogers led, but had a great final 100 to get the win in her 2nd Diamond League race ever.
Afterwards Green said, “It’s just my second Diamond League and my first win so it’s great. We went out quick which I was worried about but I tried not to freak out. Just be patient and work my way up. I felt really good and I still think I have a little more to work on to get ready for Worlds. I’d like to get into the final there and hopefully get on the podium. The big thing for me this year is just not being injured, I’ve been able to get through all the big workouts and because of that I’ve brought a lot more confidence into races.”
Noah Lyles ran 19.65 to beat Usain Bolt’s meet record in the 200, Brandon McBride won the 800, Ronald Musagala beat Souleiman and the Ingebrigtsens in the 1500, Elaine Thompson won the 100, and Will Claye beat Christian Taylor in the triple jump.
