A week after having a disastrous 4:11 showing in the mile at the Armory, former UVA star Robby Andrews had much more success at the Amory this evening in the 1000.

Andrews, who set the American high school 1000 record at the Armory four years ago at 2:22.28,  ran 2:17.90 – just missing David Krummenacker‘s American indoor record of 2:17.86.

According to crack LetsRun.com coach/statistician John Kellogg, Andrews’ 1000 time is the equivalent of a 1:46.02 for 800 and 3:37.91 for 1,500.
