I couldn’t do a time trial, since I have no access in a track due to coved, so I chose the flattest quarter mile street block I could find. I’ve reduced my peak mileage by 15% to 35 a week but haven’t “tapered” yet. I did a pretty hard set of hill repeats workout 2 days ago but just wanted to see where my fitness was so I did 8x400 with 1 minute walking rest. My splits were: 80, 80, 81, 79, 80, 79, 79, 79. It is also notable that I was wearing some pretty heavy Hoka Arahi 3s which are about 9.5 ounces. What do you predict my current mile fitness is and what do you predict my time could’ve been if I had a full season, race on a track, spikes, etc. (I’m a freshman in hs) My P.R. about 2 months ago before track ended was 5:30.
