I previously ran in random runners I had around the house like my Adidas Tubulars, Nike Vapormax flyknit. (not sure if these are even made for running tbh)
I am now really getting into running I bought "running shoes", the Nike Zoom Fly 3s.
On Friday I ran 2.5km in them just a test run around the block since I was eager to try them, no issues that day.
Saturday, I had my first proper run in them, did 6km and felt a nag at about 4km, nothing serious so I kept going until 6km. I limped all day after and the next day from a very sharp knee pain. Ended up taking 2 days off after because of the knee pain.
On Tuesday I put on my old Adidas shoes and ran 3km no problem no pain. Then as a test put on the Zoom Flys and 500 meters and my left knee was in agony once again, ended up calling it quits for the day.
Today Wednesday, I ran 6km in my Vapormax and was fine, no pain at all.
Even walking in Zoom Flys I feel my left knee flaring up. What gives? do i need to break these shoes in or do they just not agree with my mechanics? Anyone have similar experience going from runners to a real running shoe?
Its a shame because I have never felt better & faster running in a shoe before, until of course the stabbing pain comes on.
