I don't get it. Last year, if I wanted to go hang gliding, free soloing, or whitewater rafting, it would usually have been perfectly legal for me to do so even though there was a very real risk of me dying and/or killing other people.
So why can't we have the same thing for track meets? Nobody if forcing anyone to race, so if all athletes and spectators sign a waiver and are willing to assume the risk that they might get sick and die, why can't they participate or watch?
I can waive away my rights when I go skydiving, so I should be able to do the same for a track meet.
