The real question is: if americans distrust their goverment, why do they keep voting red or blue???
Because, as a rule, people are easily manipulated pawns. See also: emotional attachment to consumer goods, etc.

Why didn’t they stay, resist and overthrow the oppressive regimes?
That would have been rebelling, running away to another country wasn’t resisting oppression.
I suck at history but this post is beyond stupid. The first settlers in America were still european citizens who were initially attracted by the adventure and economic opportunities. Youre right that they initially were running away to get a reprieve from oppression. But then, when England started applying pressure and threatening violence, then they did not run. They resisted and fought the oppressors. And won.
"These colors dont run"
You do suck at history and you confirmed that with the above.
Those colors ran away from the Vietcong, shamefully.
Because both parties are bought off by Jews. Stop banning this post. It is accurate. Look it up. Its partly another reason why we distrust our government, they've made it so that if you even mention AIPAC and how both parties bow down before them, your post will get banned, you will be called an anti-semite for telling the truth, etc. etc. etc.
Lol if "both parties" are bought off by Jews, do you really think there would be anti-Semitism in America or that Trump could get away with trying to make "Jewish" a separate nationality?
Nobody bows down before AIPAC and American involvement is almost entirely based on protecting its Middle Eastern interests. It's not in the interest of Israel, just of the American government and making as much money as possible.
But I'm wasting my time because if you really believe all that, you're not going to listen to me, despite how easily you are obviously influenced by random things you ReAd SoMeWhErE oNcE on the internet. So just know your post isn't being repeatedly banned due to some sort of conspiracy, it's being repeatedly banned for senseless discrimination and convoluted attempts to spread false information.
Have a nice day! :)

I agree but there's more to it.
What kind of person thinks to himself "I should be in charge of others" and then seeks a career to achieve that.
That's a great point. In one of Arthur C. Clarke's books, can't recall which one, he has a future where the world has one government and there's a World President. There's a law that disqualifies any candidate who gives any indication of actually wanting the job. Presidents are supposed to be dragged kicking and screaming into the office.
I like that idea!
That's one of the reasons George Washington was the best President. They say everyone rejoiced over his election except for him. We've lost the idea that elected officials consider public service a temporary hiatus from their personal responsibilities.
Americans distrust government because government officials lie to the people regularly. During his 1992 presidential campaign Bill Clinton promised to cut taxes for the middle class, yet less than a year after assuming office, he endorsed a tax increase on the middle class. George W Bush led us into war in Iraq because of (non-existent) weapons of mass destruction - he either lied or deliberately misled himself by the CIA. Barack Obama promised the American people that they would be able to keep their doctors if Obamacare was passed and that the average American family would see annual healthcare savings of over $2000, yet the exact opposite happened as millions lost access to their doctors and the price of health insurance skyrocketed.
There is absolutely no reason to trust the government as it has lied to us so many time.
Gosh I want to respond to the trolls...
As far as I'm concerned, government is no different than a mafia, but it is a necessary evil. The American form of government, which I believe tries to maximize freedom and is the best in the world, is flawed. Maybe some day there will be a form of government that isn't.

There is an old story from pre-empire Rome about general Cincinnatus.

This is absolutely 100% true. Anyone who doubts this needs to read about the deliberate Israeli attack on the USS Liberty in 1967 in International Waters and the associated coverup by both President Lyndon Johnson as well as Democrats and Republicans in Congress.
Also, why else did the US go to war in Iraq? A weakened Middle East is very beneficial for Israel.
"I like that idea!"
One world president? Why? Why do we even need a president? People can live and create their own lives. You don't need a government. in 1776 in America a lot of people said "What will we do without a king. We need a king." No you don't!

Nobody believes this b.s. Do you really think that everyone forgot about all of the promises which were made about Obamacare and were quickly revealed to be complete fabrications?
"Maybe some day there will be a form of government that isn't. "
That day is now! This the perfect time. As I noted, people can live and create their lives on their own.

I don't think that life being sublime has anything to do with a universally perfect form of government.

Wrong again, plenty do, myself included.
On his website advertising the product, Staley -- whose practice includes Botox injections, tattoo removal, oxygen therapy, and fat transfer -- cited President Donald Trump's recent promotion of a French study claiming hydroxychloroquine had overwhelmingly positive results in the fight against Covid-19, according to federal prosecutors.

Gonna have to go with Yale University on this one, doofus. If you were American, you would understand that the American gov. kills 68,000 because BOTH PARTIES oppose universal healthcare. This has been happening for decades, not just now to make you cry like an ignorant trump snowflake weenie.
Healthcare is not a partisan issue. Both parties work TOGETHER, killing 68,000 Americans annually as they both refuse universal healthcare. They do this together, willfully, fully knowing Americans are too stupid to vote for universal healthcare because you all want to fight each other before you help yourselves. Here's a knife to cut off your nose because your damn face
"This shift to single-payer health care would provide the greatest relief to lower-income households. Furthermore, we estimate that ensuring health-care access for all Americans would save more than 68 000 lives and 1·73 million life-years every year compared with the status quo."
