* There's a story where one time they were riding up hills through some complex streets and a car went by and almost hit them and yelled at them out the window. Lance took off and disappeared, chasing the car up the hill, and when Tyler and the rest of the pack caught up they saw that Lance had pulled the driver out of the car and was beating him down on the street.
* The guys on the Postal team were obsessive about resting their legs in between training rides. They picked up this obsession from George Hincappie, who would completely avoid walking up any staircase and try to avoid walking as much walking as possible and rarely ever left the couch. Tyler said when he and his wife lived on some beach in Nice, France his wife always ask him if he wanted to go on a romantic walk on the beach and he always said no because he was afraid it would affect his legs for tomorrow's ride.
* Tyler was a momma's body, almost alludes at having a Freudian Complex.
* Lance was like a cycling news magazine, with all the information he knew and would share with the team during their daily rides. Lance obsessively stalked/researched rival cyclists to know where they were training, what kind of shape they were in, etc. Lance would share the latest rumors (e.g. Pantani had basically dropped out of cycling world become a recreational cocaine user) and this information was always correct. Lance also liked to blab on during training rides about non-cycling topics like Religion (he's an Atheist) and the Stock Market.
* The inter-team competiveness on Postal was toxically high and mostly driven by Lance. Lance was expert at mental games in and out of racing. On daily training rides he would always be subtly toying with the pace to gauge his fitness relative to others. The team would do individual time trials in training and Lance had to be #1. There was a time trial in which Lance finished 2nd to some other team member, but the guy who timed told him he was 1st just to keep tensions low. There was another where Tyler beat Lance's record and tried to keep it a secret but word got out. That was when Lance suddenly became unfriendly towards Tyler and soon after Tyler would quit the team.
* Lance's favorite phrase was "Not normal!" and he would say it during races whenever some no-name made a huge breakaway. This was obviously code for saying that someone was doped to the gills. And it was obviously ironic because Lance himself was the king of super-human performances. Lance's record time of 38:01 up L'Alpe d'Huez was a full 10 minutes faster than Greg Lemond's.
* Tyler says Lance was super-buff before he suffered testiticular cancer. His biceps couldn't fit inside cycling jerseys. But Tyler was most intrigued by the buffness of Jan Ullrich. Apparently Ulrich was known for always being "overweight" beacuse he couldn't control his eating. Tyler said one time he rode up close to Ulrich just to get a close glimpse of his phyisque. He said the way Ulrich's muscles and veins pulsated was like something out of an extraterrestrial movie.
* Tyler says he had gotten so good at understanding hermatocrit that he could accurately estimate by looking at a drop of his blood what the number was (e.g. 43 or 49). He says when your hermatocrit is high you feel on top of the world and your cheeks have more color and you look healthier.
