Doesn't Oregon basically rely on transfers instead of developing their own?

Leaving Stanford is smart if you want to run fast.

The wimping of collegiate athletes. Man up, you choose a school... stick it out.
Looks like someone was never a college athlete
lol. You closed minded fool
I guess all is fair in love and recruiting.
A college spends countless hours recruiting an athlete. That athlete blows up, then here comes all snake colleges trying to get that athlete to come to their school... yep that's fair.

yep cause that’s the only reason an athlete transfers, because they blow up. What if that college they went too has a coaching change? The team develops a toxic culture? The person is genuinely unhappy and a fresh start is what they need? To be honest I used to have the same opinion as you, until it happened to me. Then I saw. There are right and wrong reasons to want to transfer, and until you know that persons situation you shouldn’t deem it as them “wimping” out.
FAIR "in accordance with the rules or standards"
All athletes and coaches know the rules when they joined, so it is fair. Sort of like complaining that you lost an 800 because you ran the entire race in lane 5 while everyone else cutin.

While this is true, from why I’ve been told it’s very easy to get around your school from trying to block you. More often than not when the athlete appeals, they will win. Sometimes it takes multiple appeals though. Just putting this out there so runners understand that the restrictions their coach may put on them, isn’t the final word. May take some extra work, but if you really want to go to a school that’s being blocked, then it will be worth it.
If you’re on social media, a very notable athlete has to sit a year after transferring from Georgia to Texas. Tara Davis
She screwed her former University by transferring mid year. There was nowhere for them to go with her scholarship. Most of us are talking about the typical process of transfering in the fall with ample notification in the spring. She should have been eligible this spring if she transferred last January and sat a year.
Arria Minor
Georgia to Baylor
Carlton Orange
From Arkansas to Texas A&M had to sit out a year.

yes, very smart to leave the school that had 5 girls run 4:37 or faster last year (including Lawson, Heymach, and Oakes who were nowhere near that speed in hs)
not to mention they'll probs be ranked #1 pre-season, unless people are stupid enough to believe an NC state team that is 100% reliant on underclassmen (mostly freshmen) will actually beat an experienced Stanford team returning almost everyone from a 3rd place finish
she left to join her sister at NM, not because she was running poorly at Stanford
Imagine Patterson from Virginia Tech to Hawaii

Are you serious. Dude already competed for them this past indoor season. I don’t feel like looking it up you didn’t feel like it either apparently.
Lindsay Billings from Duke to kennesaw st. This is what I was here to post
Doesn't look like he sat out.

NC State Women’s XC will have a roster as good as anyone in the country. Elly Henes is done with XC but will bring back Clairemont, Moreno, Chimel, Savannah Shaw, Julia Zachgo, Mariah Howlett and not to mention other HS All-Americans and accomplished runners like Heather Holt, Rafella Gibbons, Sam Bush, Anna Vess, Sarah Latour and Isabel Zimmerman.
The competition to make the travel roster in Raleigh will be fun to watch with Coach Henes adding Tuohy, Starliper, Steelman, Claire Walters, Jenna Schulz, Gianno Quarzo and Alyssa Hendrix.
Twanisha Terryof USC one of the Nations Top Sprinters is Graduating, but has 2 years left of Outdoor Track Eligibility (And 1 Indoor Season) I think she is happy where she is at though.

I said he had to sit out a year. He went to Arkansas. Then he sat out a year while going to Texas A&M . Then he competed for Texas A&M. The point being some get a waiver to compete and some have to sit out a year.
