No water would seem to invite liability should a tragedy occur. Plus I just can't see a forbidding minors drinking water when dehydrated under any circumstance. Whatever the case though, I have no clue about the rules.
no you aren't thats why there are no water stops, u cant drink til u finish
i knew that i'm just wonderin would u get disqualified if you get somebody to give you water.
I remember hearing something about it being allowed as long as it's provided for everyone (not just your own team).

Has Letsrun ALWAYS been the first stop on the internet for lazy, stupid high school kids? Why can't they take it to Dyestat?

no kidding, it\'s annoying enough with all the lazy, stupid college kids and adults in here.
I live in texas and i've seen people do it in races and not get in trouble, why would you want to? When i'm running that hard water does more bad than good.
Haha, that reminds me of a road race i did this summer(5k) I was neck and neck with this about 40 year old guy but when he went for the water i was able to pull away and get the extra edge on him, I ended up with 18:50 and he had 19:07 or something
u really dont need water for the 5k, just suck it up and drink when u are done
the best ways to find (credible) answers would be:
1. Ask your high school XC coach
2. Check with your state athletic association, because they're the ones who make the rules

wow, you are amazing
because you guys have nothing better to do then to answer our questions. without us letsrun.com would be pretty boring.
U don't need no stinkin water in 14-20 minute race.
If you need water, you really need to stop your all-protein no carb diet.
BADASS.
I take 25 mins, can I drink?
the rule, at least for CA is...
no runner/team is allowed to gain an unfair advantage by, but not limited to water stops and misters.,
This means, you can give your runners water if you also provide water for every runner in the race regardless of their school.
