Easy/Recovery Runs: NB Zante Pursuit / OLD Adidas Adios 4s
Track workouts/Tempos: Nike Zoom Sreak LT 4s
Short Races (5k / 10k / Half) : Nike Zoom Streak LT 4s
Marathon Races: NEW Adidas Adios 4s / (maybe in the future) Nike Zoom Streak LT 4s
Long Runs: Saucony Kinvara 11s / Adidas Adios 4s
Daily: Hoka Clifton 5
Fast: Nike Zoom Fly 2
Race: Nike VF 4% fly knit
Trail: Hoka Speedgoat 4
Reebok FFE - main shoe, usable for basically everything
Boston 8 - bought these for racing and speedwork, obviously not racing right now and not really doing any serious speedwork either, so I actually just put these back in their box a few days ago
Hoka Challenger ATR 5 - I want to do more trail running and have the option to trail run on trails even when they aren't bone dry, so I just bought these. haven't yet run in them
Mizuno Wave Shadow 2 - old race and speedwork shoes, was using them for when I go to the gym and treadmill running, but I'm obviously not going to gym now
The FFEs are starting to have a lot of miles on them, so I'm looking at replacing them soon. Unfortunately I can't go try on shoes at the running store now. I was hoping to try out Hoka Clifton/Rincon and Saucony Triumph/Hurricane/Guide. Other shoes I was considering but wouldn't have the option of trying on at the local shoe store would be Reebok Panthea/FFE2. And then there's Saucony Shift/Speed/Ride3 if they come out soon.
Adidas Boston 7: Long run, daily runs and some long intervals
Adidas adios boost 3: Road racing 5km and track intervals
Nike Next% : going to eventually replace the adios boosts as primary racers
Long Run / Easy Runs - Nike Infinity React ( a solid shoe ) - 8.5/10
Road Intervals / Workouts - Nike Streak LT4 ( got em real cheap, like $45 ) -9/10
Track Work - Black Nike Mamba V ( picked up round feb but little chance they’ll be used this season :( - 8/10
Road Racing / 3k + Track Races - Nike Vaporfly 4% FK London Edition - ( monster of a shoe) - 10/10
Mountain - An Old Worn pair of Gel Kayano 26’s ( heap of crap, heavy and unresponsive ) - 5/10.
Nike Pegasus Turbo 1: favorite for longer days, tempo runs, even some interval work. Definitely the workhorse here. The2's are absolute trash. Hoping and praying that Nike reverts back to the 1 for the next iteration. Quite possibly the best trainer I've ever owned.
Nike Pegasus 36: 'average stuff', speed work Again, a big step down from the 35. Excited and hopeful for the 37.
Hoka Clifton 6: Easy days, medium-long runs. A little clunky, but great for resetting.
New Balance 1080v10: closest non-Hoka or Turbo model I've found in another brand. Used for average runs and shake-outs.
Others used for racing, speed work or junk miles: Adidas Boston 8 (speed), Mizuno Waverider Knit (junk), Nike 4% (racing), Nike Next% (racing)
I love to see that that Pegasus 36 is popular around here! No surprise because it's an amazing shoe!
Pegasus 36 - literally for everything
Zoom Fly 3 - Love this shoe for everything tbh great shoe for mileage.
Hoka Clifton 2 - Again, an all-around shoe that is light enough for tempo/fartlek and has the right amount of cushion/support for easy/long runs.
Clifton 6: Easy runs
I really want to try the next % but it's sold out atm. Hopefully once it restocks and it goes on sale after the Alphafly drops then I'll cop the shoe.
How many miles on your Turbos? I went 300 miles on mines and around 250 when they started feeling flat and the zoom X foam didn't feel as bouncy as the first hundred miles.
easy days: clifton 6's, old boston 8's
workout days: adidas adios 4
workout days i deem subjectively important: streak lt4 (speed), hoka carbon x (length)
races: LT4(15K and below), next%(half and up)
also use the kinvara 11's as a floater between easy days and workout days
Training: Saucony Ride ISO 2
Racing: Saucony Type A8, will probably get a pair of Endorphin Pros when they come out
Do some of you really have dozens of different pairs of shoes? Maybe I'm not too picky, but I found the Ride can handle just about everything from long runs to easy days to speedwork. Have had about 12 pairs between the Ride ISO 1 and RIde ISO 2. Hoping they don't change much for the new Ride 13!

Shoes are tools, and just like tools, some are better suited for specific tasks (runs in this case). I feel that in wearing different shoes, we are looking for a certain type of feel underfoot. Maybe it’s psychological, but it’s nice to change things up a bit.
We are talking about running again? Not half baked conspiracy theories and uninformed right wing BS. I'm in..
Nike Infinity Run (I rotate between two pairs) - Easy days and base mileage
Nike Zoom Fly 3 - Tempo and Threshold training runs
Nike Streak 7 - Track repeats
Nike Next% (pink) - All racing
Nike Peg36 trail Gore-tex - Dirt
--
By the end of the year I expect my rotation to be this
Nike Peg37 - All around + long runs
Nike Infinity - Easy days
Nike Next% (pink - old race pair, replaced by the Tempo when it drops)) - Tempo and Threshold, track repeats + faster long runs
Nike Next% (black/green drop) - Racing
Nike Alphafly - Racing
Nike Tempo - Tempo/Threshold training + Faster long runs
Nike Peg 37 trail (or Wildhorse 6) - Dirt
I love these shoe threads. Always an interesting read....
Adidas Ultra Boost 19 - Easy/long runs. These are also the shoes I bring when I travel since they're at least okay for pretty much everything. Great shoe.
Saucony Iso Ride - Easy/long runs. A little clunky when brand new but I love them after about 80 miles.
Nike Pegasus 36 Trail - Trail runs and when there's snow on the ground. Good for routes with a mix of trail and roads. I don't do any serious trail running.
Nike Zoom Fly FK - Tempos and progression runs. I also occasionally wear these on easy runs when my legs are extra beat up.
Nike Pegasus Turbo 2 - Workouts and COVID-19 time trials
Nike Vaporfly 4% - Just bought these and have yet to wear them. Excited to try them out when racing comes back.

Understood! Just interesting to me that so many people seem to change their shoes out at intervals of 30 seconds per mile.
I've definitely tending to wear more traditional, versatile shoes over my 25 years of running (Saucony Ride, Nike Pegasus, Brooks Launch) rather than having a specific shoe for every type of run. But to each their own!
Long runs: adidas Ultraboost 19
Easy runs: adidas Ultraboost (not 19) and Nike Vaporfly 3
Intervals and reps: Pegasus 35 turbo
Races: Nike vaporfly 4%
I have Achilles problems and the adidas and Nike shoes with their backward scooping heel counter is great!
I should add that I have only recently started rotating shoe...especially different brands. I have always been a one shoe for everything (except racing flats) runner.
I went through a lot of shoes trying to find a replacement for the Virrata (my former marathon shoe) after it was discontinued. Also just like to try different models. Trying to cut back, but I have too many racing flats. Ran in mostly Saucony for a while, but they kept discontinuing the models I liked (Cortana, Zealot, Virrata) and had durability issues with the rest (Kinvara). Moved to Skechers and have been playing with New Balance and Reebox lately.
Saucony Triumph 17 - easy/recovery runs. Only 40 miles so far. Jury is still out.
NB Propel - easy/recovery runs. Love the midsole, but the upper doesn't lock down very well.
Skechers GOrun Ultra R2 - long runs. Save these mostly for 20+ milers and a few marathons. Also drainage holes for sweat fests in the summer. Disappointed these are in the Maxroad 4.
Skechers GOrun Razor 3 - marathons, MP runs. Finally found my Virrata replacement, but considering giving the Speed Elite a shot.
Skechers GOmeb Razor - easy runs. Similar to the Kinvara, but last longer for me as there is actual rubber. I found the knit upper a bit too warm in the summer to wear for too long.
Reebox RunFast - easy/moderate runs, fartlek. May just be break in period (at 47 miles), but that PEBA hasn't been as comfortable as I had hoped.
Skechers GOmeb Speed 5 - intervals, tempo. Fit much better than the knit upper of the 4.
Saucony Type A6 - races, rare speedwork. Set my PRs in 5k, 10k, 10mile, half and marathon in this shoe (marathon in previous pair).
Skechers GOtrail Ultra 5 - muddy and/or rocky trails
Merrell Trail Glove - smooth, dry trails. Used to run a lot more in these, particular on limestone. Still like them for recovery runs on a grass/dirt loop nearby.
Inov-8 X-Talon 212 - trail races. Several years old as I don't do many trail races, but I'll break them out if the trail is particularly muddy.
Also have the Adidas Sub2 (marathon shoe reject), Reebox RunFast Pro and Skechers Speed Elite in the closet. Sub2 will be my track/tempo shoe after the Speed 5. I'll try out the RunFast Pro and Speed Elite whenever we have races again.
I think you can get away with having just 1 shoe: lightweight trainer/racer, like Kinvara/Adios/Rincon/PegTurbo. 2 potential problems with that approach:
1: you could feel pretty beat up if you're doing serious mileage in those (this is highly personal)
2: you will burn through those pretty quickly, as they don't last as long as beefier and heavier options
For me personally, I just wanted to understand what kind of running shoes I run best in, so I kept buying and testing different shoes looking for that dream shoe. I also believe it is good to run in different shoes with different drop and rocker to them, I try to rotate 10mm drop and 4-5mm drop shoes to keep my achilles strong, but healthy.
New Balance 1500v4 - right now, only shoe. Every day, all runs 8 - 20 miles at about 70mpw, hard, easy, whatever. About 1300 miles on them so far. I brought these out of retirement because....
New Balance Zante Pursuit - previous shoe (again, all runs, all distances as above) that was doing fine but started having a horrible squeaking problem around mile 900. Nothing could fix it - tried new insoles, lubricating, powdering. Shoe feels fine but I can't stand listening to it for 1-2 hours each run every day.
