I am registered for the NYC Marathon November 1st, and I was previously registered for the Chicago Spring Half. Since that has been cancelled, one of the deferral options is the Chicago Half on September 27, five weeks before NYC. I live in LA so I'm aware the proposition of two "destination races" in different time zones could be difficult - I want to know, is this doable, and if so, what steps can I take to make this as smooth as possible? This question goes beyond the usual recommendations for dealing with race travel, and I'm asking more about the actions I'd take in training schedule and overall preparation.
Please, no speculation about whether these races will actually happen - I know no events are certain at this point, but all anyone can do is just keep running and see where we're at week by week, right? I really appreciate any training advice I can get on this.
