Daniel Day-Lewis (ever see him run in "Last of the Mohicans") over Nic Cage (he's out of shape for "Adaptation").
I'd go with Kidman over Zellweger for the women, but I'd enjoy watching Selma Hayek run the most. She'd have two black eyes after a mile run.
Zellwegger alternates between getting in shape for roles like "Chicago" and getting out of shape for ones like "Bridget Jones." But if she's on the "in shape" end of the cycle, I pick her over Kidman. Zellwegger's got runner's legs. Kidman...maybe the high jump.
Daniel Day-Lewis for the men. What he did in "Last of the Mohicans" was some of the best cross country running ever on film.
Unfortunately Day-Lewis is a heavy smoker. Still, I was impressed by the running in that movie. Apparently he also impresssed many with his boxing ability in "The Boxer". Based on his skinny physique and athletic ability he might be the best bet to make a good runner. Plus he's Irish right?
For the men, Daniel Day-Lewis over all of them, although Cage is pretty athletic but a little thick. Brody? Perhaps some cross country running in his past but doesn't say "athlete" like Day-Lewis.
For the women, Salma Hayek has an incredible body, but I get the impression she'd be a bit of a primadonna when it comes to physical exertion. I'd put almost all the other women in the category ahead of her. Julianne Moore and Nicole Kidman definitely have a sort of runner vibe about them.
I would say Renée Zellweger would take the field. You see that girl launch in "Me, Myself and Irene" when running for the train........she whipped Jim Carrey's ass.
As far as the dudes go, I say Daniel Day-Lewis.
A better question.....who is the slowest in both fields?
Dhing
Zellweger has actually run a few marathons so I would have to go with her, though the mile is a differnent race....
Fastest:
FEMALE: Jennifer Garner from "Alias" and "Daredevil".
MALE: Brad Pitt or Edward Norton Jr. when they were in shape for "Fight Club".
Slowest:
Male: Bob Hope
Female: Bea Arthur

But Cage is signed to star in a movie on Louis Zamperini's life so he might be in pretty good shape now (assuming that he is not filming the POW scenes right now).
Not sure how he manages to look so fit because Pitt is a regular cigarette smoker who rarely exercises. He looks like he would be fairly quick if he ever gave the Hollywood lifestyle up and took running seriously.
Female: Alexandra Paul of Baywatch did Ironman in Hawaii so she has to have some ability.
Robin Williams once ran 1:58 for 800-meters. Peter Strauss (Jerico Mile) in the 1980s, ran a 4:15-ish mile in college.
I also have to wonder how fast Angelina Jolie (sp?) is.
Do you really care how fast she is... Or do you just want to play back some slow mo scenes of it like in Tomb Raider... haha
As far as the original question would have to go with lil Renee and DDL...
I adore Julianne Moore, but it was kinda shameful to see her running in Hannibal. They really should have pulled that scene out. She doesn't even qualify as a jogger.
One of the cool images of Silence of the Lambs is the opening scene when Jodie Foster runs through the woods effortlessly hopping over logs and such. It basically says that this girl is tough and can compete with the best of the men.
I really didn't get the same vibe from Julianne in Hannibal.
Yeah, I'm a fan of Julianne Moore as an actress, but nothing about her suggests "runner." Renee would win
pitt was in the seminal distance running _bildungsroman_, across the tracks, with ricky schroeder, so he has his ability to pick em up and put em down documented on cellulite
Robin Williams has also been seen doing triathlons and cycling although with all that body hair, he creates a lot of drag.
You're partly right. A. Jolie could work me anytime.
