Helsinki, Finland - "The IAAF yesterday received information from members of the Finnish LOC and Team Finland that two Czech athletes had received intravenous infusions from the Czech team doctor immediately prior to the start of the Men’s 1500m in the Decathlon.
The matter was discussed by members of the IAAF Medical and Anti-Doping Commission at a meeting yesterday evening and an IAAF investigation has been initiated.
Intravenous infusions are prohibited if they are intended to alter the integrity or validity of an athlete’s sample.
Each of the athletes was tested following the end of the 1500m event. The results are not yet known but the IAAF can confirm that neither sample was diluted."
Intravenous transfusions? Sounds fishy...
