Hear me out on this one... I'm well aware that you can't do what is proposed in the subject. However, my question is what is the best plan for the week before a 5k. I've been running 5 miles a day 3 to 4 times a week all summer. The 5k is one week from this saturday... what will give me my best chances of running the best I can for the shape that I'm in?
My thought is that I just do what I've been doing this week, take the day before the race off (as I usually do not run on consecutive days.)
Does anyone think I would benefit at all from running a little more or a little faster at the beginning of the week? Would it help to do a couple repeat miles at the pace I want to run (5:45's) to help my body realize what that will feel like? Or wouldn't see any benefit from that because it's too late in the game? I'm just kind of rambling, but I'm sure there are other who have been in my position and I'd like to hear what you've done.
