Would the relay team f*** up and DNF like the U.S. 4x1 team?
Would the relay team f*** up and DNF like the U.S. 4x1 team?
Warnier or Webb and why?
I know this is supposed to be a shot at Webb but to answer your question: Wariner every single time.
Fine ill bite...
Webb because hes got a better gas tank at that point that Wariner
are we to presume that wariner can even run 800 meters at a time?
Some of these Webb/Wariner threads are getting awfully close to the SNL Chicago Bears fans skits of the late 80s.
Suppose Mike Ditka fought the entire German army from WWII. Who would win?
(pause)
Ditka!!
(clink of mugs)
Da Bears!
ROFL @ thread
Supposed Ditka were to do a 4 x 4 against wariner, williamson, rock, and clement. Who would win?
I guarantee Ditka doesn't drop the baton in any of his 4 legs of the relay.
Da Bears!
this is a really stupid question... but strangely interesting.
That being said, Wariner would destroy Webb. Do you think Wejo could arrange such a race?
Would Wariner be able to run 2:03? Do we all understand that speed at the end of a race has nothing to do with speed? I don\'t care if Wariner can run a 4.4 40 he wouldn\'t have that speed at the end of a hard 800m. You can\'t just tuck away speed in your back pocket like a freakin raisinet you want to eat later.

You know i've been trying to figure out what the typical post on this board reminds me of.... The Ditka skecth from SNL sums it up perfectly.
I agree, I think Webb would win no problem. 2:03 is jogging for Webb, whereas I think being generous Wariner could run like 1:55 untrained, so 2:03 would have him in some serious pain. If you extended the question to who could run a faster 200 after a 2:03, the question would be laughable.
That's a good idea. If Wejo and Rojo could get some money together for it, they could sponsor "The Letsrun.com Games" - a meet in which there are a handful of mythical matchups such as this.
Too bad the public at large would take very little notice. Although, this wouldn't be that different from the old show "Battle of the Superstars," except that no one has heard of most of the world's track stars.
