Did you know the plague lasted for decades? It had a foothold for quite a while in various parts is the world. I'm sure there were deniers like you back then as well. EVERYBODY BE CALM. Was that effective? How about you pound sand and let the health professionals handle this one.

It will not do the same thing. It will be worse. It's R0 seems to be higher than the flu. Even with undiscovered cases, it's death rate is most likely significantly higher. There is also a flu vaccine. THERE IS NO VACCINE FOR THE CORONAVIRUS. NADA. NOTHING. It's long term effects are unknown. The list goes on. Ignorance is bliss, but your country will soon go to lockdown too. At least I can take comfort knowing I don't live in America.

It does make sense. From what I understand, the coronavirus is pretty infectious and health entities are claiming a higher death rate than the traditional flu.

You know that you test to little right? We in Europe who prepared beforehand (scandinavians etc) are just waiting for your entire health care to shut down. It's so frustrating. We know what will happen in the US, but we cant do anything and are battling our own fight with the virus. We lost control after about 300 people got infected. Until then we tracked each and everyone. Put down hospital buildings because one was affected etc. Italy was to late in testing and so is US

We don't close everything down to not get infected, but do it so there wont be to many people at once that need help from the hospitals. We do it to buy our health care time.

Pure low IQ stupidity! If the death rate of undiscovered cases was higher, people would be dying of it right now at a rate of more than 133 per day, every day as they currently do from influenza. If 133 people per day were dying in the US from an unknown cause there would be national guard troops on every street corner.

The percentages of deaths attributed to COVID-19 will likely go down as it is likely that many of the deaths currently placed in that category will be shifted to other categories.

Shutting down the global economy is hardly commensurate with the current rate of infections and deaths. It may seem crass to say but once one category is eliminated from the overall assessments, elderly with pre-existing conditions, the attrition rate is scarcely the equivalent of the flu.

Some people have abandoned their critical thinking skills here and as always the media machine is pimping fear 24/7.

The real risk is the disintegration of our ability to care for the sick and a commensurate spike in the death rate of not only COVID-19 but also other treatable maladies.

Everyone talking about the healthcare system collapsing is still missing the ACTUAL point; the ACTUAL facts. Infection numbers are rising merely because we are testing now. They will continue to rise. Unfortunately, stupid people with limited reasoning skills are getting more terrified as the media harps on the number of infected. They are making it sound as if the virus is spreading when in fact the only thing spreading is the reach of the testing.

Hospital beds won't be overtaxed, there will be plenty of healthcare providers. Why? Because people are not getting sick, they are getting infected. When the media starts reporting HOW MANY ARE SICK AND REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION, as opposed to HOW MANY HAVE BEEN INFECTED, maybe the tiny brains like you can stop wetting your pants and make reasonable decisions based on facts! More infections does not mean more hospitalizations.
