Wide feet - Carbon Plated Marathon Shoe?

Hey! I don't know it there's a wide version for these, but I'd suggest the Asics Gel model, they feel crazy light (https://popular.reviews/running-shoes/#1_ASICS_Gel-Venture_6). I switch between pairs, find it more comfortable, so aside from these, I jhave some Nike's and a pair os New Balance too.

Zoom Fly Flyknit is pretty roomy if not light (compared to VF). Definitely worth a shot great shoe and cheap at the moment.

forget about any carbon plated shoe. none will fit you.

I just did a search for shoes under 10 oz on running warehouse that come in 2E.

I was leaning towards the 870, but have recently tried the Hoka Carbon X as it is the widest carbon shoe and felt pretty good. A few more short runs in them and maybe a workout and i'll try a long run in them to see if I can race in them - if not than likely the 870 will work.

Have you tried the Next%? I always were 2E sizes for my trainers and found the Next% to be suitable. Much more room than the 4% flynight version.

I do my faster sessions in the fuel cell rebel as it comes in a 2E size. I also set my half marathon PB in the fuel cell rebel. It fits true to size and is also pretty wide in the mid foot and heel area too.

Fuel Cell Propel is also very wide and you can order a 2E.

I wouldn't put too much stock into what Reed says up there. Sizes on paper doesn't translate universally across different models of shoes, they're all using different lasts and different materials that flex in their own way once they're on your foot. You need to try them on to find out. Reed doesn't know that and just goes off paper specs. It's obvious he has no experience what it's like to deal with wide feet and just likes telling people what they can and can't do.

I measure 4E on a Brannock Device and have gotten by comfortably just by going up a half size in several models of racing shoes. I don't mean square peg in a round hole, I mean no issues at all with fit. I've worn D width in the Vaporfly and Zoomfly just fine. Those are the carbon specific ones, but I've worn the Streaks, Adios, and Fastwitch before too.

A lot of the new carbon shoes either aren't available yet, or they just had tiny releases just to navigate around the rule changes and sold out immediately. I recommend the Vaporfly 4% Flyknit in the mean time, specifically because Flyknit has a lot of give, but don't let others dissuade you from trying things on if you get the chance.

Fuelcell TC is far and away the widest platform of any of the carbon plated shoes. Even wider than the Hoka Carbon X. While it doesn't come in wide, it is a very wide shoe. It's not widely available yet, but it will be, you should at least try one on and see if it works.

Now that Boston is postponed to Sept, and the TC comes out in June I believe - I will try one on and see if it fits better than the Carbon X

The plate isn't carbon, but the Zoom Fly 3 is soft enough that I can wear them without insoles, which makes them both roomy enough for my wide feet and a bit lighter. I'm not a marathoner, so I can't comment on whether they would be appropriate for 26.2, but I run more than half distance in them regularly.
