The results didn't record any splits for her after mile 22. Is there any word on her condition, or if this was a technical issue?

I really thought this was her opportunity. She looked uncomfortable every time she was in the picture but then she always looks a little pained. Don't know. Would have liked her to make the team.
over training , too much racing last year , poor taper with too much running .
Never looked smooth from the start.
Was rooting for her, but it was clear she was hurting by mile 10. She ran a half PR in Houston earlier this month. My guess is she was overtrained and the hills destroyed her. I was bummed because after her Berlin PR I thought she had a solid shot here
She got tired.

agree, the comment she made pre-race that was something like "this was the most training I could have possibly fit in without getting injured" was not encouraging. Could somebody ask tinman to tell her coaches to keep the ball rolling?
If she had trained in windy Laramie she would done alright. Too bad she didn't.
She was in the front pack until at least 17 . Saw her at 21 and she was in tears and flaying around , obviously in distress
Overcooked perhaps. Did alot of racing last year, i don't think her coach would have much of a soft training load either. Bad day, but alot of top females did.
Maybe she hasn't done enough racing lately. She seems to crave racing.
She like most of the ladies got beat by Kenyans in spring shoes. Just like most of us do.
She led early into the wind for no reason. Terrible tactics and honestly she choked like a lot of the female favorites.
I like how everyone keeps saying 'her coach' instead of saying 'Ryan.'

I thought the same thing, she seemed to be in front the entire time she was in the lead pack.

Thweatt led for almost the entire middle hour of the race. Considering how close she finished to third, you have to think that may have cost her.
She's had a pretty remarkable career but I was always confused why people were thinking she had a shot in a real race. She tends to go around doing well in road races were the top US runners aren't racing. It would have been huge for her to qualify or even top 5-10. Would have been a drastic change in she has finished in any actual US or Trials type events.
I saw her out running on Sunday morning, so she does not appear to be injured. She probably pulled out of the race when she knew she wasn't going to make the team. No need to beat up your legs on that course when you can save them for another race in the coming months.
How many mothers have came back to elite level after having 3 children?
