MEN: 1. Henry Rono KEN 1:00:04,
Honestly, I am kind of annoyed with all these East African-born runners taking all the top American spots.

You get 15 distance spots - 1500, 3k steeple, 5, 10, marathon. Debatable whether the 15 and steeple are really distance anyways, they're middle distance but kenyans and ethiopians still excel there. Competition is fierce. Easier to become a citizen of another country than break into the top 5-10 in the world in an event.
Agreed. If you're not Blackfoot, Arapahoe, Cheyenne, Comanche, Crow, Cherokee, Iroquois, Navajo, Lenape, Seminole, or Apache just stay home.

I'm annoyed with how slow the USA has been at distance events. It's nice to actually see our singlets compete nowadays.
Work harder and stop running 64 min(M)/70 min(W) half marathons.
Would you be just as annoyed by a New Zealand born runner being on the US olympic team? What about the child of East Africans who was born in the United States. Is that ok? Are naturalized citizens second class in your opinion? I'm sorry, but your post drips with implied racism.

I would be annoyed if say the Robertsons switched and competed for the US. Cheserek I would be fine with he has been here since he was maybe 15 years old. I don't understand why he wasn't given citizenship already.

Once someone gains citizenship there is nothing stopping them from competing in sport for their new country.
That’s America baby, if you don’t like it leave.
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
