Coaches round splits down because they can. You always have 10 people coming up to you with splits that are faster so may as well start out on the generous side.

I never round splits down. Elapsed hand times are rounded up to the next tenth and then splits are calculated based off of these times.
Do you coach at Notre Dame? Maybe you should follow the lead of the coach taking splits of the reigning DMR champs.
