I'm doing a 5k next weekend. I recently picked up a pair of Vaporflys for a half marathon I'm doing in a couple of months. I have a pair of very lightweight racing flats as well. Which would be better for the 5k? I'm a former 15:30 guy in college but am probably in 16:45-17 min shape now as I only recently started training again.

fair enough lol. i guess i was wondering for a "hobbyjogger" if wearing a lighter flat for a race as short as 5k would outweigh the springy benefits of the next%
I just ran a 16:39 I find that I am faster in my streak LT4 than in the VF especially if it’s a twisty course. I do however find that my legs feel far less beat up in the VF4% than the flats.

The real question is: What would Rhonex Kipruto, who crushed Cheptegei's 10k WR (also 26:24 is obviously better than 12:51), wear?
Gotcha good to know. That's another thing I'm considering. Avoiding injury is very important to me.
