Hey Runners,
Apologize for mah bad English :D Few words around me and my little mission:
I'm 28, typical #slimfitguy with 63kg (around 140lb) and 1,73m (5'7''). Started running again after an 8 years break 3 months ago to prepare for a sub 3 Vienna City Marathon in April.
As I love lightweight shoes, I have been switching between the Adizero Boston 7 (extensive runs), the Adizero Takumi Sen (tempo and competition) and the Nike Pegasus 36 (regenerative, was not the best decision in my life though).
I increased my weekly average relatively quick from 50km (30ish miles) to around 90-110 km (60-70 miles, almost all of them on tarmac), but experienced a lot of pain in those last three months and some minor injuries that cost me a few training sessions (too much stress and probably just a little too much training). Often I couldn't even go up or down the stairs properly for days. I've been running most of the km in lightweight trainers or competition shoes. I love the dynamic feeling of those.
I've just returned to training after an ankle injury and was wondering if I should switch to the Ultraboost 19 to avoid new injuries / overload or go with the Boston 8 (I need a new shoe anyway for my extensive runs and the outer side of my knees always hurt when I run in the Boston 7 - those are 8-900kms old).
So my question is: would you "downgrade" to the Ultraboost 19 when you were me or stick to Boston, let your feet work and wait until your body adapts? i want to avoid that the shoes are too heavy or that i have no feeling for the road anymore and many people tell me that with my weight i do not need such a cushioned shoe.
Thx a lot in advance :)
Bence
