What were the splits
Holy shet
I had to look it up because I couldn’t believe it. Amazing run for him, can’t wait to see what else he has
Currently being coached by Joe Bosshard

by my eye something like 60/2:01+/3:00 for Cruz - stayed near the back of the pack thru 880, started moving up but got caught on outside with 1 lap to go as he made a strong move into 2nd from something like 400 to go to 150 to go then had a slight bump as he got to the rail, then struggled a little on the last straightaway.
Culpepper seems like the only guy who can give Young a run for his money this season,Culpepper's speed vs Young's strength. Should be exciting if they face off

So you say neither Sprout nor Daschbach (assuming he is healthy again) have a chance in the mile against Young?
Damn. That's a huge jump for him. What a run.
Are you sure? His dad is a professional coach
I don't think Young could beat any of them in a mile, but Young is focusing on 3k/5k. I just think Cullpepper is the one to challenge Young this season as he has already run 4:01. Outdoors will be different .
Strangio will definitely give Young competition too, probably more in the 1600/mile than in the 3200. It'll be interesting to see what happens if both double at the state meet in spring.
The question is who of the top guys will go up against Young in a 3200 or 2 mile at a big meet, other than maybe Strangio in CA CIF championship? Maybe Sprout?
Young will probably race in-state for outdoors, doing a 5k at one of the Stanford meets, Bryan Clay, or MT Sac
Sprout and Daschbach will probably go to Arcadia. Strangio obviously as well. I believe Culpepper went last year? And Nathan Green could make the trip as well.

Emma Coburn and Aisha Leer have both posted about it in their Instagram stories that Bosshard is coaching him.
Culpepper's only knock is his inconsistency. This is a phenomenal breakthrough.
Culpepper placed fourth, 1.01 seconds behind the winner.

Bosshard > Powell. I hope Cruz doesn’t regress throughout college. He beat all his future teammates yesterday..not a great sign.
More than one heat
Sam Tanner 3:59.01
Dustin Nading 3:59.77
Cruz was 11th overall and in heat 5 while the two UW sub 4s were in heat 6 with the winner Jager
