Last year Clayton Young won the NCAA men's 10K wearing the Vaporfly and a lot of athletes wore it in the NCAA West Prelim to qualify for NCAAs. This fall in the Mt. West XC Championships the individual champion was wearing the vaporfly and at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championship that was moved to the roads, many of the top finishing individuals and teams were wearing it. I just tuned into the University of Washington Invitational on runnerspace and saw one of the athletes in the men's 5K wearing a pair of Next Percents. But based on the World Athletic ruling, those shoes would have too thick of a stack height for a track spike. So I would assume it wouldn't be allowed as a flat in a track race either. Are the rules the same for cross country? Is the NCAA required to follow the World Athletics ruling?
