Looking for thoughts on best options to successfully communicate with high school Track & Field Athletes and their parents. I heard Remind is good, but they cap at 150 devices and I need probably over 200.

Split the remind team into groups like JV and Varsity or Girls and Boys. Will require double posting sometimes but at least the app features are still accessible. That's how teachers communicate with total rosters of 200 plus students.
E-mail, please. I don't want to install an app on my phone just for one coach.
The Remind app that was mentioned above does not require the end audience to install any app. They can sign up for the group on a website, and choose to receive messages via email or SMS if they don't want the app.
My biggest problem with the Remind app is that every once in a while a message gets hung up somewhere between the sender and one or two recipients, and they'll get the message really late. Like sometimes two weeks late.
Also messages sent out to the entire group are limited to one text message worth of characters.
Other than that I like the app.
Personally I still think pigeons are unbeatable, but my assistant coaches keep telling me email is the way of the future. Until that happens though I'm not buying it.

Good luck getting a group of parents to all check their email.
Our coach switched to TeamSnap this year. In 4 years it's been the best for communication. It still comes via email though.

When it comes to communication, as a teacher or coach, it doesn’t matter if they checked it, only that you send it.
We use TeamApp and have for years. The athletes download the app and request to be admitted to group. Parents do as well but don't have to download app because messages that go to app are also sent to email address. A schedule for both practices and meets can be either loaded onto app for viewing at anytime or if the administrator prefers can link to school athletic website to. We post results there as well. There is no limit I believe on the number of users.
Group me 100% no app needed and everyone checks their texts.
My kids' coach depends on my son to pass along all team info to us.
This is not the correct answer.
Actually, I know a good coach that posts on twitter, instagram and I assume he emails people too.
I send emails at a weekly rate, sometimes more often during the season and the athletes and parents know that is the preferred method to check.
Our school also has devices for every kid and we use google classroom for more specific things that the athletes all need to see (weekly mileage, workout splits, heat sheets etc) which the kids check with frequency because they use it in school already. That had previously been done through a facebook group but too many kids didn't have it for it to be purposeful anymore
