Hey LR.
I need some help to increase my 400m speed. I’m an 800/1600 specialist, but I’m maxing out at a high 54 as of now. I feel this is limiting me from going under 2:00 and 4:30 for the mile. I have the raw speed (sub 24 on a flying 200 and sub 12.5 on a standing 100) and the aerobic endurance, but my legs are failing me and I’m picking up too much lactic acid whenever I start going sub 60 pace. What are some good workouts to do to push my lactic wall back? So far I can barely go sub 1:30 for 600m but the lactic acid gets too rough after that and I’ve only managed a 2:04 so far this season in the 800. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!
