Other than Des, the USA will be hard pressed to land anyone in the top 10 in either the men's or the women's race barring a late entry.
Boston for the last decade has been “the other spring marathon”. Always the JV version of London.
Isn't it because you can actually have a chance to win, since London just belongs to Kipchoge?
Jemal Yimmer (Ethiopian NR at half - 58:33) is making his debut.

With more Kenyans & Ethiopians than in the past (25 between the men and women), we could have a breakout performance. Perhaps Jemal Yimer of Ethiopia coming off his 58:33 half at Valencia.
american fields are even weaker than I expected. I'd think that some more washed-up runners would half-a55 the Trials and then collect a pay-day at Boston. I'd also think that more europeans would show up to capitalize on the easy ranking points they'll surely get.
Sorry Reed only one has been American woman liked your plan.
It's a strong field, but the best PR in the field -- 2:04:06 -- is nearly 2 1/2 minutes off the WR (#31 performance all time). Nowadays I get excited about 2:01 and 2:02 guys, not 2:04 guys.
Don't forget about Kate MF Landau!!

Women’s field is deeper than last year. Degefa will win again but at least another 8 might go with her for 35k. Last year she led by 2.27 at halfway.
Saying Lawrence Cherono isn't worth getting excited about because he is "just a 2:04 guy" is probably selling him short. I'd be more concerned that his Chicago and Boston wins might not have been against the strongest competition than whether he's recorded a fast time by running something like Dubai.
2:04 or not the man won two majors in 2019. I am excited to see if he can win another one or two in 2020 while still being "just a 2:04 guy."

I wouldn't be surprised if there are more late entries after guys realize they're out of it 13-20 miles into the trials and drop out to collect a pay day here.

Then don't watch. London and Berlin are the only marathons in the world that will feature 2:01 (2 active runners) and 2:02 (2 active runners) guys
Stephen Scullion is doing another marathon? He just finished Houston last weekend.

He ran 2:11.52 Maybe to get in the top 10 of a Major to get into the Olympics, Not sure if 2:11.30 in Boston counts as a Olympic Qualifier (As it is slightly Downhill)

I expect more OT competitors will run Boston, they just aren't committing right now.

Top 10 at Boston counts the same as all the World Marathon Majors for qualifying.
PRs from 2013 and 2012 would seem to indicate that the runners whom Boston recruited are getting long in the tooth and won't be near their PR on the 2020 Boston course.
I know he didn't run a qualifying time. But didn't he place high enough to earn him a spot at the Olympic Marathon?
Where's Alexi?!?!?!?!
