Embarrassing issue, but I have to ask about it.

I had to find specific compression shorts to put under tights during the winter and half-tights during track races.

Under Armour was nice to me. Nike and New Balance were not.

Rest of the time I wear running shorts and no compression stuff.

Get anti-chafing stuff and put it where it needs to go.

Wear a pair of briefs under the tights. Problem solved.

You can get this problem with regular shorts or compression shorts.

If you're miles to go and hurting, and running with gloves, you can place one into a strategic spot to reduce friction.

Paneten cream is cheap, easy to find, and effective at preventing/healing rub/rash recovery.

1. Buy athletic tape

2. Cut a small piece

3. Do a half wrap on top of the head

4. Go for run

5. Get it soaking wet in the post-run shower

6. Remove

Slivers of duct tape work well on the nipples as well.

body glide. Chafing there is worse in shorts than in tights by the way, unless its hot and you're overdressed (which tights would be above like 40F). Body glide can go on your penis and will prevent chafing.

This. I like Asics performance briefs, but lots of manufacturers make performance boxer briefs that work equally well.

Vaseline. Any run over 5 miles for me. However it leaves a stain = only OK for dark material.

.....and I was fine after a 19 mile run in tights last weekend.

Jamin spends several hours a day rubbing Vaseline in vigorously. Seems to work for him.

A Speedo comfortably keeps the stick shift and ball bearings in place while wicking sweat away.

A little dab of vaseline on the tip prevents chafing and costs about $3 for a tub of the stuff. Also keeps the nips from bleeding. Sometimes need to look for it in the baby diaper rash meds section of the store.

Try some different shorts. The usual culprit is either that your shorts allow too much motion, so the tip chafes, or there isnt too much motion, but the shorts have a seam right there that causes irritation. Either way, different shorts is probably the answer.
