So I think I've been burning my recent workouts to the ground because I'm trying to run paces that are too fast for my current fitness and end up inadvertently decreasing them mid interval/mid threshold because my breathing gets ridiculous
I'm trying to understand how I should be feeling on daniels threshold intervals (10 min w/2 min rest) and 1km repeats?
I have a tendency to push myself harder becsuse I'm scared that if I don't, I Won't benefit from the workout
As of right now, my threshold pace feels manageable the first 2 minutes, breathing starts to ramp up, gets moderate by 5 minutes, gets moderate to significant by 7 minutes, feels like I'm sort of hanging on the moments leading into 10 minutes. At the end of the threshold effort I'm crouching to catch my breath but feel okay for the next interval - at which point I would probably have to decrease the pace slightly because my breathing creeps up sooner than the prior one.
Same idea for intervals in terms of how my breathing increases throughout, etc.
Im starting to realize this is not sound training so maybe you guys can help describe how I should be feeling during these efforts?
