Tires make a tremendous difference in a vehicle’s performance. In fact, they can be the difference between very good times and elite times on the track. Also, while the engine is a key component in determining a vehicle’s performance and upper limits, there are scores of other technologies and factors that combine to produce a competitive track car; tires are invariably one of the most important. Ironically Eliud is defeating the entire premise of Nike’s marketing position by claiming that the shoes are basically irrelevant. If so, why wear them? Why buy them? Why not wear trainers or the Nike Marathoners from ten years ago? The guy clearly understands cars and engineering as well as he understands shoes and physics, which is to say that he knows virtually nothing about them.
