he is running around 50 miles per week, with 2 track sessions and a tempo or race
If you are talking about a woman, she can qualify for the steeple, the standard is 9:30 for 2020 and 4:04 for the 1500m.
The 3000m steeple looks reachable.
I'm talking about a man
Looks unlikely but the 3000m SC is much better than the others comparatively.
Here are the standatd for the U20 world championship
3:48.00 1500m
8:14.00 3000m
14:12.00 5000m
9:07.00 3000m SC
Thanks!
I'm his coach and the plan is adding about 10 miles every year until he reach 100mpw.
what do you think that are his potencial PBs ?

He's going to need sub 3:55 mile to have a chance in hell. Milage is good but you've got to work on speed in the meantime. Might be good to focus on 800s and miles while gradually increasing miles the next couple of years.
thank you!
you know you can just say "I want to qualify" instead of talking in the third person
oh sheet didn't read that far, just use the John Walker coach strat
Everyone trains to be a sub 4 miler but Walker's coach trained him to be a 3:50 miler and kept putting that in his head. I mean there's a shot it doesn't work but when it does you get John Walker.
So tell the kid he's gonna be a 3:40 miler or a 7:50 steepler and I hope to see him racing in the vaporfly 1000's in a few years at the LA olympics
Olimpicths!!
thanks for the advice!
But do you know someone who made it to the OG with similar PBs at 18?
We Need some background.
It seems verte difficult, but not impossible. Just go for it

The answer is no and it's not even close, but you don't have to be an Olympian to enjoy competitive running.
he has been anemic for several years and ran those PBs being anemic. Now he is taking a diferent iron suplement that we hope will end his anemic problems. last week he has a vo2max test and the result was 70ml/kg/min
What's his nationality?
He's got a better chance at making the 2028 team than winning the Scripps Spelling Bee.

You nearly could have won the gold medal at Rio.
