I'm talking about the 2006 to 2010 Vernon Davis. Not the today Vernon Davis. He no longer lifts like he did now. He's nowhere near as strong now or as fast now because he never goes all out in the gym anymore due to being scared of getting injured in the gym and screwing things up in the NFL for him.
The debate is over.
The greatest athlete we have ever seen has been the 2006-2010 Vernon Davis. Anywhere from 6'2 and 254 to 265 during those time periods.
Bench - 480 naturally. Probably just for fun seeing that he's not a powerlifter.
Squat- 680.. Probably close to parallel.
Deadlift- 725 Probably had potential to do more.
And all of these totals are conversative seeing that most NFL strength coaches are careful in how they train NFL athletes. They will sometimes only have NFL players go to a 455 bench and then stop for fear of getting hurt with anything more.
All of these totals are incredible for a natural athlete.
But the most incredible aspect of this all was the speed. 4.38 at 6'2 and 260.
That's the equivalent of a 3.5 to 3.9 hand time. Meaning if you ever ran the 40 and you bragged about your 40 time then you have to realize that you have to add in .35 to upwards of .75 to that to get an NFL combine style 40 time equivalent since they time it different in the combine with a laser finish.
So if you ever had someone hand time you in 4.4 to 4.6 then that's really only a 4.8 to 5.5 under NFL combine style timing.
The amount of power to move 260 pounds down the track that fast is incredible. This is not only an NFL record for fastest 40 ever over 250 LBS, it's an unofficial world record that still stands as the fastest 40 yard dash ever run by someone over 250 pounds.
What you all fail to realize is this. Had Vernon Davis continued to make powerlifting his main goal then where does his bench go to ? Possibly 550 by the time he was 35. Where does his deadlift go to ? Possibly over 800.
He didn't even focus on these things because he was too busy in the NFL.
By far the greatest natural athlete ever. And not joking here. This isn't some sort of joke.
42 inch vertical at 260.
Do you know how fast twitch and explosive that is?
His power to weight ratio was off the charts in the 2006-2010 time period.
Very good power to weight ratio.

It's basically impossible to get any fitter than he was at 2:55 to 3:20 in this video. This is like the peak of natural human development and raw talent.
You have to give credit where credit is due.
