(although v1 was plenty wide, but that means I may size down for v2 if I end up getting it).
What are you smoking? The Floatride Forever Energy have the narrowest forefoot of any shoe I've ever worn. My Boston 8s have a much wider forefoot (but are narrower in the arch area). Are you comparing the same size to the same size? I see you say the FFEs were really long. Pretty much everyone universally says the FFEs run a half size large, so my FFEs are a half size smaller than my Boston 8s. If I had FFEs in my normal size they really would be extremely long.
In the comment you quoted, I'm not comparing the Reebok and the Adidas. I went true to size with the Reebok, and I find it, at most, a quarter size too long. Due to the shape of the forefoot, I'm not sure how I'd feel if I sized down, maybe it'd be a bit tight around my pinky toes, but the upper has enough give so probably not an issue. Still, by no means a narrow shoe for my foot shape.
Fwiw, I have the same size in Forever Energy and Boston 6. I imagine if I sized down the Reeboks they'd be still a hair longer than the Adidas but with a tighter toebox, not so much because of the actual width but because the Boston has more give.
