Looks like the French dude just ran a road 10k in 27:43. This would be faster than any American has run before.
Remember him from the U23 XC race last year in which he fell face first into the mud just before the finish line. Where is this guy training?

Jimmy Gressier is becoming pretty damn fast

Damn. Great run!
That seems to have come out of nowhere.
Same age as Drew Hunter (and similar 1500/5000 times)so it'll be interesting to see how they develop the next 10 years. Could Drew drop a 27:40 10k now?? -
Apparently going for Wanders' 10k record next weekend. Not sure that's possible such a short time after going all out in this race.

Do you realize Gressier is number 2 on Euro all time list for 10km road, behind Wanders -27.25, but ahead of Farah -27.44.
In the women's race Liz Westphal, a dual French/US citizen ran a French record of 31.15, her previous best was 32.35.
When I looked at those times, I was thinking 'short course' -but it's a legit three laps road course in a normal Parisien suburb.
By the way, Gressier will be training in Iten from January 13-Feb.14. -

I've been following him for a couple years now because I love his style (backwards cap) and dominance at U-23. He's completely legit. Some great videos of his training online like 20 x 400m... he seems to train old-school American system, which is surprising. Can't wait to see what else he does.

That would be rather surprising since the American record is 27:48. -

Mark Nenow?
April fool’s day, 1984? -
I guess Nenow's 27:23 = Ryan Hall's 2:04. Assisted.

I would have thought the story here was the guy 20 sec quicker with no results prior to this year.
-
Ebenyo? He's been on fire this year on the circuit, everything from a low 13:15 5000m to a 60-flat half marathon.
-
Was that THE A. Miellet at #21? Surprised to see a mid-D speedster jump into one of these. It's like Centro or Engels running a 10k.

Grice just ran 28.5x over the weekend. -

Wow. Grice doesn't even have a recorded 3000 or 5000 on the track! Both him and Miellet are 1:45 runners. -
He won under 23 xcountry 3x, came 5th or 6th in his under 20 race (Jakob won). He only started running 7 years ago, I think (he was a soccer player prior).
-
Goes to show you. Lots of running talent must be lost to soccer!
-
He was a great soccer player (semi finalist at world school championships), he ran at french xc championships in 2014 without any training, he finished 6th. He started running in 2015, then in 2016 he finished 3rd at french xc championships with one shoe. He finished 4th at European u20 that same year (Jakob won as a 16yo) and he won it in u23 in 2017 ( only 6 runs a week) in 2018 and in 2019
