Watch out Ingebrigtsen brothers here come the Hoey brothers!
Not even a comparison. Ingebritsen brothers are world class medal contenders (maybe not the oldest one anymore, but he was at one point). Hoey bros at their best are USA finalist types.
Not bad for December results, would you agree?
How old are the Hoey brothers?
Pretty sure Josh Hoey can only run well at BU. Don’t forget this kid ran 1:47 in high school then ran 1:21 in a 600 the next year in June. Pretty depressing but wish him the best.
All 3 Ingebrigtsens ran world class times this year. They would all lap the Hoeys in a 5k and would beat them by 10 seconds in a mile.
2019 bests
Henrik 7:36 13:15
Filip 3:30 13:11
Jakob 3:30 13:02
On that same results list, apparently Marcus Reilly (4:09) is 14 years old. Anyone know for sure?
Yes but 4:19.
On athletic.net, it states that he was 15-16y so is he really 14?
Yes. 14.
Jakob I ran 3:48 on 1500m when 14 which I believe equals 4:07 on the mile!
Ingebrigstens v hoeys isn’t much of a matchup, I think we can admit.
However, I’d be interested to see the McGorty brothers vs Hoey brothers in a 1k. Them boys might get up to something. Sean v Josh would be cool, so would Brandon v Jaxson. Then of course Ryan McGorty v Jonah Hoey to round out the three man squads. Who would win?
Henrik ran 7:36 off of very little training. He was injured constantly and even a week after the race could only limp around.
However, his winter training times were better than ever, so there is still the chance he can run 3:30-31 if he actually has a healthy season. That's become less likely but he still has all the talent.
Looks like Josh is 19 and Jaxson is 21. I get why josh went pro and got the offer and good for him for not going to college just because everyone else does. I mean, who cares. I have to believe that Jaxson being taken on as a pro as well is so he can be a pacer for Josh and just be there for moral support. And I don’t think that’s the worst thing, just peculiar because Josh is the more talented of the two by far. A 4:02 as a 21 year old is just ‘eh’.
just turned 20 and 22
looks like there is a third hoey in that race too, Jonah. Googled him and this is what came up

Can you imagine being the coach or teammate of a kid who would win several events at the state meet and he doesn't run for the HS team? That would be an uncomfortable year.

That's interesting about Jonah Hoey leaving Bishop Shanahan to take online courses and train with his brothers. If memory serves me correctly, back when Dalton Hengst had issues his senior year at McDonough he was rumored to be transferring to Bishop Shanahan to run with the Hoeys. However, that never panned out and I believe that Hengst also completed his HS degree online, no? The difference is that I believe Hengst was already committed to Ole Miss when he left McDonough.

Watch out??
For what?
Are the Hoey brothers getting lapped and in the way of Ingebrigstens??
I don't get it.
Are they blocking the track?
Someone better warn Jakob of the "obstacles" on the track
Be careful Henrik!
Watch out Fillip!!
Jakob, you just hurdle them Hoeys!!
Watch Out Ingebrigstens! Watch Out!
Should be okay. Ingebrigtsens will be a perfect 1/2 lap ahead indoor so no lapping or obstacles.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
