Hey all,
My grandfather was a physiologist back in the day and had a Woodway treadmill in his practice, which he let me have last winter when he retired. Here are some photos: [cannot seem to post link since this is a new account, how can I post a link to my photos?]
The treadmill worked great all winter and when the weather became soft during spring, I started running outside again and stopped using the treadmill after a while. Now it's winter again, and I want to use the treadmill again, but the motor of the treadmill won't start for some reason. The controller lits up as normal when turning on, but when I press the + button, the motor does not begin accelerating, which it normally does. In fact, it does nothing. When I manually force the treadmill belt to roll, it does recognize the speed though. I opened the treadmill and checked all the circuits to make sure all the fuses are intact and they are. And there my knowledge about fixing problems like these stops.
Anybody any experience with this kind of issue? I really don't want to get rid of the treadmill. It's German and the protected circuit boards look like new so I assume it is not a major problem and can be fixed, but since it is probably like 25 years old, I cannot find anything on the web about it and so cannot find anyone with experience with this problem. The only option left, besides getting rid of it, is hire an experienced electrician to come look at it, which won't be cheap and definitely not for a college student like me.
Thanks,
