Ezrun said they're all getting scholarships.

Gionna Quarzo,10:25 3200
Wow, these 6 alone would probably make D1 XC Nationals, this is ridiculous
The biggest thing for Tuohy would be her teammates and her coaches and the facilities that the track program offers
For some smart kids it's really important to surround themselves with other smart kids so I can see why it's good to choose Elite School
It's a really cool thing that that group of talented girls will be teammates.
Nice weather not too far from home. And it's a solid Academic School. It's not a Elite but it's definitely a good school
Actually Arkansas is the current powerhouse and they just won NCAA. I know Taylor Ewert is going there. Not sure about their other recruits.
Full includes tuition, room, board, books, travel, abd expenses. You end up with several grand in your pocket. No coach is dumb enough to give a true 100% athletic scholarship to anyone.
Let me educate you. Not everyone has to be on a full ride from athletics! Depends on their academic scholarship.its called a full minus so maybe they all dont need fulls!

So Tuohy is only getting tuition paid for?
I can understand if students still have to pay for textbooks and a dormitory room.
Lmfao alright buddy

And even if she does not have much success as a pro, she's from a fairly well off white family family, so she does not need a degree from a fancy school to help her access most of the opportunities American society can offer.
She's disadvantaged coming from a white family, but she's privileged because of her sex, and therefore, doesn't need a degree from a fancy school to help her access most of the opportunities American society can offer.
Guess they may need to rebuild though as many are graduating. Stanford should be in contention for a title though as many are still juniors.

She's privileged because of her race, not her sex. Women are closing that gender gap, but men are the privileged class.
A lot of these schools offer in-state tuition to exceptional out-of-state candidates
Then they run financial aid and academic scholarships
Then whatever is left over gets covered by partial athletic scholarships
The fact that NC State is getting a lot of top girl runners
Well I'm sure they're offering them really good deals
Obviously these girls have a lot of options and scholarship offers
I'd imagine the top girls like Tuohy and starliper will have everything paid for and will actually get a small Financial stipend to cover expenses
Most of the other girls I'm sure will get 75 to 100% of everything paid for

I know this does not sound PC, but I don't think being white is that much of an advantage anymore. If I apply to many academic jobs, I am supposed to address diversity issues in the application. This is becoming a huge red flag, and I won't waste my time on that. At one time, certain minority groups were repressed and discriminated against, now I think the pendulum has swung in the other direction. Being male also does not help either, but that is another issue.
Your facts are wrong. I study this issue. In certain very specific sectors of society, minorities and women are making headway, but in the vast majority of arenas in the United States, being black or a woman is still a major limitation in success.

According to Starliper's local newspaper:
Getting a full ride: Marlee was offered a rare full-ride athletic scholarship. Each NCAA Division I women’s cross country and track and field program has 18 full scholarships to hand out. But Jay said N.C. State didn’t hesitate to offer a full scholarship.
“(The coaches were) like, ‘This is the easiest business decision we’ve ever made,’” he said. “They were the only ones that were just full athletic, right off the bat.”
Possibly--but that probably more of an income/wealth/education effect than a gender/race effect. You would have to adjust for that in any type of analysis/modeling. It also depends on the sector of the economy. I just know for what I do, many agencies seem to bend over backgrounds to hire women or minorities.
What the Kudzu knows, and you almost surely don't know unless you're from there, is that Rockland County, NY, my home county, is the poor stepchild to Westchester County, which is home to Dr. Herman Tarnower, the "Scarsdale Diet Doctor."
Rockland has changed since I grew up there in the long-ago 1960s, but it's still a relative backwarter. Not as backwaterish as Orange County, where I once drove up from NYC to attend a dirt-track race and got misted by dirt as the cars careened by, but still off the grid. My town, Congers, was a working-class tavern town.
The fact that Rockland could produce a national class runner is beyond imagination. But it has, and I would just note that she did NOT come from across the river, which is John Cheever country: Rye, Ossining, Scarsdale, Bedford Hills, and of course Greenwich CT if you drive little further.
So check your privilege, justthefacts.
They still would have to contend with Stanford U.
