So I'm making my marathon debut this spring and making my schedule. I plan to have a pretty full road racing season from February-April. I'm tentatively signed up for a May marathon locally that is usually won in around 2:30. I think that should be pretty easy as I estimate my fitness to be somewhere in the 2:17:30-2:18:30 range. So I was thinking of doing another marathon in addition to that. I have three options. 2 weeks later, 3 weeks later, 6 weeks later. I think 6 weeks gives me the best chance to do well in both, but with it being a long season I'm worried I'll be pretty fried by then. Are two/three weeks out feasible? How will running a marathon 8-10 minutes slower than my estimated fitness beat me up? Welcoming any and all thoughts on the matter. Thanks!
