I think that's why this race was so tough for her because she knew a ton of people were counting on her and looking up to her. I'm really happy for her that was gutsy!

And that's really a great running community Katelyn Tuohy Claire Walters Brooke rauber Kelsey chmiel and a couple of other standouts as well as kinetic and Manlius are all from the same local area

Yeah and those were two great Runner she outkicked. Taylor ewert and Sydney thorvaldson are really running great. Look out for Sydney to win a championship next year and who knows maybe Taylor at Foot Locker if she is feeling good

The conditions were almost the thorn in her side!

If the weather was nice I think she would have been able to cruise to 5 maybe 10 second win

But the fact that it was hella crazy conditions was just one more stressor. The other girls had nothing to lose if they died at the end and fell back the 6th or 7th it was no biggie but if she died and lost she knew a lot of people would be disappointed!

Great post...she certainly deserves all the accolades.

For all the races she has run dominating the field, I believe todays race is the most important XC race of her career to date.

You have like five or six of the best 20 girls in the country all living within a 10 mile radius of each other.

Yeah speaking of New York runners. What's up with Brooke rauber getting 7th and instead of 6th... she's really all over the place in her performances and nxn!

anyone know if she's going to run that cross-country race next week? Maybe not after such a tough effort

Lol, I was saying the same thing watching last years video...why don't they let them stand under a tent, or at least give them some crazy Nike swag to help keep them warm????

I would be really surprised if she did....although I think it would be great for her to come back and run without the pressure...but I think it's just too soon.

No I didn't look at a map cuz the basic point was that they're pretty close together

Even if it's a hundred-mile radius it's still pretty cool that four of the top 10 runners live within 100 miles of each other... and two of the best teams

But I doubt it's even a hundred miles it's probably like 50. Easily two hours travel time can be within a 50 Mi radius with the way the roads are

I mean it's basically the same region of New York its suburbs north of the city.

It's crazy, basically a ton of great Runners are from the same region of New York

I don't know why that would be hard for people to understand

Whether it's a 10 Mi radius or a hundred mile radius they're basically all from the region north of New York City

There's six or seven different directions you can go from the city

Long Island Connecticut New Jersey upstate New York, and then of course all New York City

The fact that all these great Runners are from upstate New York is a pretty cool thing with the great culture of running up there
