Methner gets second. None of the stupid milesplit predictions even mentioned him, just compared sprout and young. Illinois is no joke. Methner is elite.

Agree. Dude is the real deal, and I as hugely overlooked in this race. Some might think that worked in his favor though. Either way, he’s had a hell of a senior year.
Many people who were fooled by his regionals speed ratings compared to other people’s had little knowledge that he wanted to save his legs for big races.
Have a ton of respect for his willingness to do the double, but curious what would have happened if he had foregone FL and been totally focused on the Nico matchup
He got spanked because this was a real xc course unlike Detweiler.
You kids dont realize milesplit is never accurate. I look at the guys and girls from our state and it is missing a good 40% of information. The only time these ranking things appear accurate is after the state meet in track because on the basis that kost kids or at state they are only responsible for one meet.
I'll say Sprout and Young had solid credentials. But if they overlooked breaking Craig Virgin's record they are foolish. Illinois has never been a joke.
it's also a real xc course compared to most of the southern california courses Young has been running on
should be

He will definitely win footlocker if he performs like he did today.
Milesplit had him ranked 4th behind Young, Holland, and Sprout. If you guys think 4th is far away from 2nd when you are evaluating tens of thousands of runners, you need to take some remedial math.

Would have lost by 7 seconds instead of 13?
"once i get meth-n-er, she really chills out."
Super impressed by this kid. I've never seen a runner at his age more calm and composed. If you go back and look at all his performances over the past 4 years I can't find a single poor performance. Seriously go back and look through his races. 7th at State and 7th at NXR his sophomore year. 1st at state, 2nd at NXR, 15th at NXN, and 6th at FL his junior year (Also won the 3200 last year). This year he was 1st at state, 1st at NXR, 2nd at NXN, and TBD for FL.
That's quite the resume.
Great interview with Steve Cram - says Jakob has no chance of WRs this year
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
