Are vaporflys worth using for longer reps of track workouts? Or should I just wait to get them for after I graduate and hit the roads.

It depends; do you have a trust fund?
I wear them for key workouts on the track or roads that I really want to hit. Probably once every 3 weeks or so. This is less about the wear and tear on the shoe and more about the desire for them to feel “special” when putting them on.
To more directly answer your question they feel great on a track.
I only get them out to race. If you want something like that, get a clearance Zoom Fly (in Nike outlets now) to work out in and save the special pricey ones, I've had my first Vaporflys for over two years now, just racing in them
I like wearing them to weekly track workouts about 4-5 weeks before my race. They feel so different than normal shoes it helps me get used to how they feel. Maybe excessive and it costs more but I figure 3 extra workouts in those costs me the equipment of about 2 days property taxes max. So whatever.
