Just when the olympics started to recover from Farah’s terrible era of boring slow races with 2 last sprinting laps. This is pathetic! It’s like he admits he has failed in the marathon and goes back down to his comfort zone. Hopefully he loses
Can you blame him? If he has an off day in marathon he could be outside of top ten. If he can get back to 27:low then he's got podium...Olympic Marathon It's Kipchoge then rest of field what I think made his decision is this no longer being true as Bekele dropping the Business interests and training/eating like a pro and contending for the marathon.

FWIW Paula ran the 10,000m at 2004 Olympics and 2005 World Champs and she was a quite a good marathoner by then. But yeah does feel like he's realised the marathon is beyond him.
That said, what would you do? Retire quietly from a sport you love competing in? I wouldn't if I felt there were still options.
Plus it gives him a chance to talk about how much he sacrifices by leaving his family. If he retired, he'd have to spend time with them doing the school run, helping his kids with homework (or at least telling them to do it) etc, etc.
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
Des Linden: "The entire sport" has changed since she first started running Boston.
