Yea cuz losing a race by a second after leading the whole way means he's a trash runner. I'd like to see Ches race more. Seems like he just does Manchester RR, an indoor season, and then the Carlsbad 5k. I find it hard to believe that he can't get into some more high profile races if he wanted to. The dude is still really really good. Would like to see him mix it up on the roads 5k to the half marathon. -
Cheserek beat Jenkins almost every single race in college when they were at Oregon together, except for that indoor 3000m where Cheserek thought he had everyone beat with the kick easily and Jenkins crushed him that one time. Outdoors Cheserek crushed Jenkins in the 5000m when the latter maybe thought they were going to try to tie. But then as a professional, Jenkins was able to beat Cheserek several times. This race was among the first the two have raced since significant injuries this year. Good to see them both running well. After he ran 13:06 or 13:08, it looked like Jenkins would go sub 13, as did Ches with his 3:49 but injuries have intervened.

In 2018, Ches was dominant, winning by 28 seconds, with Jenkins 30 seconds back.

chez has had injuires since going pro. probably explains his lack of racing, not anything else. -

Two guys finished just before her. If you've seen any of the many videos of finish tape mishaps, you world recognize that they made the right choice not to try to sprint out in front of her for a photo op. -
Oops, meant the Silicon Valley race.
My bad. Too much gravy today. -
In very windy conditions, Jenkins was 2 seconds off the course record, set by Ches last year. He also has a 5th Avenue Mile win to his credit in 3:49 several years ago, ahead of Centro. It would be great if he put it all together at the U.S. trials this year. It will be tough in the 5000m with Centro possibly going for it, alongside his teammates Woody Kincaid and Lopez Lomong. Not sure if Cheserek will become an American citizen before the end of his prime. I would imagine that Hunter will be a strong candidate if he is healthy.
