Guy walks across America in 3.5 months. Original plan was 7.5 months. Seems shady

Anyone asking for money like this is shady. Anyone doing something like this is seeking attention for themselves. End of story.

If he wanted to really help, actually help, he can go and do things for vets that need to get done. Cleaning, painting, chores, buying groceries, one on one stuff that is tedious and not fun.

All of these a$$holes want to “raise awareness” so that someone else can actually do the actual work of helping someone. But not them.

I was on the trolley he pulled. However, every time there was a downhill he got on the trolley himself, so he actually only walked half the stated distance.

I actually have no issue with raising money or self promotion, especially for a good cause. My issue is that people need to be honest about tracking their miles and really doing the distance. There are too many red flags on this one in my view. I can't find anything about the gear he used - shelter, sleep system, etc. it sounds like he had some family members as support crew later on in the walk but there is a lot of details missing for me to feel comfortable that he actually walked the entire distance.

He’s taking a cut of the money for himself. He is the guy who decides how much of the donations go where with no verification or accountability. I would be less annoyed if he said donate directly to the actual vet organization but he’s not. He wants to be made whole and determines what is whole. No donations out of his pocket. That’s for other people. He’s got his little glory adventure retirement activity. Total BS.

Check out the unrealistic charts of the distances he covered. I'm extra suspect of the hiking thru the Rocky Mountains at that pace. This guy is a complete liar.

33 miles a day is not much at all. You could do that by noon every day if you wanted to

We can't be too hard on this guy, remember the last time a guy jumped off a bridge because some runners hinted that he might have been cheating.

At 3 mph, that would be 11 hours so he would have to start at 1:00am to be done by lunch time.

He was probably wearing vaporflys. The only explanation.

Actually, there was a story that some guys chased him as he ran over the bridge, yelled at him and cornered him. Nothing about what the guys yelled or who they might have been. But take a guess.

Looks like he has a belly and man boobs at the half way mark. Must have stopped at a lot of Buffet Corrals

Roughly 3000 miles depending on route and which part of the coasts. So 3.5 months or 105 days puts him at needing about 28 miles per day. Walking at 20 minute mile pace (pretty standard walk) that would be about 10 hours of walking per day. Seems doable.
