He's going 27:36 10k pace on soft grass, or 22 low 8k pace. However, 3 minutes standing rest is a good deal. This does indicate that he will likely run 13:50+/-5-10 seconds for 5000m on the track, as well as better than 8 flat for 3k outdoors (2:40/k).
No, it's his 5k pace. Nico's 8:40 3200 would make his 3200 paces 2:42, and he's more fit than that now.

I have seen most of these type of workout videos the last decade or so, and this IMO is the best. Shooting, editing, narrative. Topnotch.
Interesting contrast between Nico, "Mr. Strugglebus" and the #2 (Jace?) who is almost too efficient. And the 3-5 guys are right behind them. Impressive team in every way.

Coaching 101: 50% of it is the athlete's DNA
25% of it is the athlete's life outside of training (school, sleep, diet, stress, etc, etc.)
25% of it is the training prescribed by the coach.
As coach's we love to suck our own dicks about an athlete's success. Newsflash: it's not us.

Honestly though, Brosnan will supercharge these athletes for a time but I hope they are doing more sustainable stuff most of the time. Claiming that you are only racing hard 3x a year but then doing 3 workouts that are harder on the body than a race is no different than the coaches that race every weekend. Clearly he is doing well short term, interested to see how his athletes do later on and if they go the way of most of the York guys.
Is 7x1k at 5k pace with equal rest time 3 minutes really that hard of a workout? My Team used to do 8x800m at 2-miles with 2:30-3-minute rest and it wasn't that hard.

Sean is developing kids from NP. Hate all you want but everyone on this thread wishes they were coaching NP boys & girls team, maybe except Doug Soles. The top 2 HS coaches are from Southern California.
