Why do you say employer?
I say "employer" because Kate Van Buskirk was working for (i.e. employed by) Athletics Canada as a Director. Would you, or Kate, prefer some other term be used? Either way, how does she square the circle of being involved with the AC investigation.
Fowley, the Independent Commissioner, said that AC would issue no further statement during the investigation. Kate Van Buskirk, Director for AC, went ahead and issued a statement, which was an apology to Megan Brown, and gave several media interviews. She used her own personal Twitter account to issue the statement. In addition to ignoring the Independent Commissioner's guidance as a Director of AC, she is also a friend of Megan Brown, a principal in the case. She has chosen to disregard the guidance of the governing body and work in behalf of her own career and her friend.
How is this remotely OK??? I shall be putting out a template letter as an open suggestion for anyone that will wish to followup with the appropriate authorities in AC.

Thanks for getting this thread back on track.
Kind of funny that was to danewrunner given how it has degenerated. But the Guelph faculty statement is relevant. The faculty my unknowingly be working on behalf of DST, since more exposure of the facts of the 2019 investigation will improve his position.
The notice of suspension was a real hit job, very biased. AC should bring in a cleanup crew to try to remedy the mess they made. I know Canadian track is new at governance, but OMG, give some kind of training to the people who will be in this space.
Every post you make is icky !
You mean she was elected as an athlete rep to the volunteer board of directors. Not sure that counts as being employed by AC.
And why don’t you post on here and trackie with your name? Or at least declare that you are the same person, so you don’t run afoul of making it look like multiple people are on the same topic.

She did not do it willingly.
She was put in that position by her coach, who had a position of authority over her.
The choice was not hers to make.
But, yes, 17 year-olds are capable of understanding, just not always capable of saying no to a more powerful authority figure and insistent 38 year old man.
Uh....
She voluntarily engaged in a sexual relationship with a man she knew to be married, and did so willingly. Had her emails back to him been full of protestations and denials of her affections then I'm quite certain that these would have been heavily featured in the Globe and Mail article. She continued to pursue her (married) coach for several years as a fully legal adult. The choice WAS hers to make...and she made it.
Your posting style and verbiage is basically the same as Jimmyx. What'd you do, clear your cookies and start over?

When you descend into the gutter to exchange with trolls, you degrade yourself.

You should stick to bird watching Fred. It's more suited to your character than trolling running forums.
