Anyone ever feel like all the work they put in is absolutely useless? I've been working real hard this summer because I'll be trying out for a DI XC team in September, yet I've run two road races and both have been pathetic high 17's 5k's. I feel like with all the work I've put in the past 2 years I should be so much faster. Granted, I haven't done any faster stuff yet this summer and its mostly been mileage and LT stuff, but I feel like its all been a waste. I'm getting toasted by 40 year old guys over 5k, how will I be able to beat fit DI college guys?
