I have a delicate and thrilling mission : To coach a female sprinter with 11.3 at 100m and 51 sec at 400m to become
one of the worlds greatest long distancers. Mission impossible? Of course not ! This is my favorite case .... to transform a sprinter to a classy long distancer. I coached her myself from 11.7 down to 11.3 at 100m in a couple of months but now we have agreed to go for the road and long distance track. If it succeed she will probably be the fastest long distance female runner in history. I think the odds to succeed are very good because in the sprinter training of her I have seen she also has very good stamina and has done workouts like 20 x 400m at 67-68 sec with rest back to 120 bpm in about 1 min . And she is used to do easy runs like 60 min at 8 min mile pace. I just have to build her aerobic power gradually and just put in the perfect workouts . That`s it!
