Does long term running cause depression?
I've noticed lots of runners are depressed and that your not you stereotypical depressed person.
That is these runners are good looking, achieve goals, and are successful but have immense amount of apathy and dread.
Just thinking back to xc hs way back, all the kids had dark sense of humor and were quietly pessimistic while getting the best grades in school.
Is it that running attracts naturally depressive types or is it possible that running is a form a thrill seeking that ultimately makes everything else seem boring or blunted?
Eventually nothing else give you the challenge or high of running so in the long run everything seems unchallenged and draining.
