2019 Pre-Nats cross cross country Discussion

Looks like Washington (89 points) gets the win in the Women's A (Blue) race, with BYU (92), Colorado (132). Michigan (170) and Florida State (211) rounding up the top 5.

Individually, it's BYU's Erika Birk with the ~7 second win.

Erica Birk of BYU looked strong pulling away for the win.

Michigan freshman Erika Vanderlende continues to impress. She was on the front for the entire race before being passed by several down the stretch and finishing 6th.

Washington steps out from the mist to upset. Will be interesting to see how the men do.

BYU (81 pts.) with the narrow win over Colorado (83). Iona (140), Washington (160) and Ole Miss (174) rounding out the top 5.

Connor Mantz kicks it out for the individual win over Amon Kemboi and Isai Rodriquez for the individual win.

Forgot to mention that was in the men's A (Blue) race.

Great race from Kashon Harrison in the Men's Blue race. 11th at prenats as a true freshman, matching his 11th place Foot Locker finish a year ago as a HS Senior. Really impressive stuff!

Yes she is running very well coming off that Brooks 2 mile win. She beat Alex Morris (N Naperville - UNC) by 2 minutes or so. Last year, Morris beat Vanderlende at NXN.

Iona men definitely overachieved, beating out Washington to finish 3rd in the men's blue race. Nice for them.

In the women's "B" race, nice win for Irishwoman and USF (Univ. of San Francisco) transfer (from Portland) Aobihe (Evidently pronounced Evy) Richardson, who gaps the field around the 4K mark and finishes with a time that would have even placed near the top 10 in the "A" race. (She also won Roy Griak this season.)

Arizona gets a solid team win (121 pts.), with Iona (187) in 2nd.

In the men's B race, Cincinatti (by way of Germany) runner Aaron Bienenfeld led wire to wire and gets an ~42 second win.

For the teams, IUPUI (140 pts.) gets the win in a relatively close race over Ohio (146).

I should know this, but the Green and Red arrows signify an athletes place movement up and down, but from what distance mark in the 8k race?

Looks like it's from the prior split.

In the women's open race, nice display of team strength by Michigan, as they get the top 2 finishers (led by winner and senior Emma Stone) and 5 of the top 7. (BYU had the remaining 2 in the top 7.)

Oops- the winner was Emma Sloan, (not actress Emma Stone).

CU has a core of young runners on the men’s and women’s side that look like they are going to be tough for the next 3 years.

Came here to post this as well. Damn--what a run. He beat Austin Vancil, another CU freshman who was probably as good or better than Harrison in HS, by about a minute. That's insane. He was just off Klecker and Dressel, who are both many time all-americans.

Harrison lived at altitude in high school so he's adjusting much faster than the other freshman to the new training. Definitely going to be a force at 5k/10k

It would probably be good to acknowledge in your recap that Indiana ran their "A" squad at in Madison this weekend, thus very clearly explaining their performance at Pre-Nats.
